Getting to know us

The SFK - Philippines was organized in 1987 through the joint effort of Dutch and Filipino nationals to meet the challenge of helping the poor yet deserving Filipino children. Registered at the Security and Exchange Commission of the Philippines, the SFK is a non-stock, non-profit and non-government organization.

The SFK Board of Trustees is composed of able professionals who committed themselves to give their services for the organization without compensation. This guarantees that the monetary support given by donors to SFK goes solely to benefit the SFK scholars.

The SFK receives funds from donors who share our vision of helping the Filipino children.  To guarantee that the funds are professionally managed and efficiently used, the SFK book of accounts is subjected to an independent audit annually by a reputable auditing firm in the country.

What we do

The SFK works to give the less fortunate Filipino children of Quezon City, Philippines an opportunity to prepare themselves for a (better) job and eventually, a chance to lead a better life.

The SFK believes that not only children with higher intellectual capability deserve support to finish their studies; motivation and dedication of each child are equally or more important.

The SFK supports the children by:

  • paying school tuition fees
  • giving financial assistance for transportation, clothing/uniform and school supplies/books
  • provide medical assistance
  • giving financial assistance for board and lodging (in special cases)

Aside from ensuring the smooth operation of the foundation, the SFK Board of Trustees also provide guidance to the children in their choice of field of study after finishing secondary school.
