"It was year 1987 when I had my first glimpse of hope. I was
then a 16 year old 2nd year high school student dreaming to go to
college. It was pretty hard to accept that I was one of the
million Filippinos in Metro Manila finding its way to have a
decent life. My life’s perspective was dim, until I was accepted
as SFK scholar and that has changed my life and helped me shape my
future."
"Through the years SFK had supported me in my tudies. After
4 years in college and 5 years in the medical school, I finally
graduated and took my post graduate training at Manila Doctors
Hospital."
"Then
the biggest day in my life came! On February 21, 2002, I passed my license
examination as a medical doctor. I owe this all to SFK!"

“I
was a high school junior student when I first heard of SFK. I was so
young then, yet I was aware of the fact that I won’t be able to go
to college due to the financial difficulties my family was
experiencing. My parents’ earnings can barely pay our food and
rent, so my dream of becoming an engineer or an accountant seemed
very impossible at that time. Fortunately, I was accepted as one of
the scholars of SFK and was able to continue my studies and pursue
my dream.”
"Looking back, I can’t help asking myself where and
what I would have been if there was no help from SFK. Indeed, the
SFK has played a pillar role in my life. It has been my refuge and
strength amidst life’s ordeals and adversities. The board members
and my co-scholars have been my second family whom I can always
count on whenever I have problems – be it financial or personal.
They did not let me go until they are assured that I can already
stand on my own.”
“I thank the SFK board members and all its benefactors; I
wouldn’t have reached this far if not for their help, guidance and
encouragement. Most
of all, I thank them for being with me all these years, through
problems, heartaches, sickness, joy and success!”
